We sponsor beginning and intermediate ballroom, Latin and country dance lessons in Hattiesburg and Petal, Mississippi. All levels of dancers welcome. Partners are not required. Come dance with us!
Current lesson offerings for July 2026:
  • 6:30 pm Mondays, introduction to social dance. Class dates 7/6, 7/13, 7/20 & 7/27. Marion Tóth, instructor. Co-sponsored by Hattiesburg Parks and Recreation at Rebekah Stark Johnson Community Arts Center, 825 N Main St, Hattiesburg, MS. Free.
  • 7 pm Mondays, mixed-level altz. Class dates 7/6, 7/13, 7/20 & 7/27. Rebecca Chandler, instructor. Location: Studio 522, 522 N Main St, Hattiesburg, MS. Monthly rates: $30 per person for USA Dance members, $40 per person for non-members. $10 per class drop-in.
  • 7 pm Tuesdays, all levels Cha Cha. No fixed syllabus. Classes will include elements of other dance styles. Class dates 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 6/30. Mike Spencer, instructor. Location: 117 N Main St, Petal, MS (next to Autozone). Monthly rates are $30 per person for USA Dance members and $40 per person for non-members. $10 per class drop-in.

Meet our instructors

Rebecca Chandler
Rebecca Chandler has dedicated her life to performance, education and community arts. She earned a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi. A DVIDA-certified instructor in American Smooth and American Rhythm, Rebecca has taught ballroom, Latin, country and West Coast Swing dance since 2005.
Marion Toth
Marion Toth has been a dancer all her life. She was on the drill team in high school and became a Level 3 instructor with the Bay Area Whip Dance Club in Houston, Texas. In addition to teaching ballroom dance styles, she offers line dancing instruction.
USA Dance Chapter 6116 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, serves the Hattiesburg-Laurel area. We provide low-cost instruction for ballroom dance enthusiasts of all levels. Classes are available per month or by dropping in for one class. No partner required.
Mike Spencer & Trish Drake
Mike Spencer and partner, Trish Drake, are owners of DLM Studios, in Petal. They are three-time ACDA National Champions and two-time UCWDC World Champions. Mike and Trish are certified in Ballroom, Country, Latin and Swing as both Instructors and judges, they are co-owners of the ACDA event Arkansas Classic.

Class Locations

Rebecca's classes are taught at her Studio 522 in downtown Hattiesburg. 
Mike and Trish are co-owners and teach at DLM Studios serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Pine Belt and metro Jackson areas. 
Marion and her husband Béla are dance instructors serving the greater Hattiesburg area. USA Dance lessons with Marion are taught at the Rebekah Stark Johnson Community Arts Center in partnership with Hattiesburg Parks and Recreation.
